The European perch is a highly predatory species of perch found in Europe. Its colouring is vivid red and green

European perch are greenish with red pelvic, anal, and caudal fins. They have 5-9 dark vertical bars on their sides. The first dorsal fin is strongly spiked with a dark spot at the base of the last two spines

Location: Most rivers and lakes contain perch and are often found close to natural and manmade feature such as overhanging trees and reeds and bridge walls jetties and under moored boats.

Distribution: Very wide ditribution common in Ireland England Scotland Wales and the rest of Europe and much of Asia
